The Empress Eugenie

a social project perpetuated today and more relevant than ever.

Donate to

Eugene Napoleon* Foundation

*the name of the Empress Eugenie's son who died during a mission in South Africa.

The Empress Eugenie, wife of Napoleon III, contributed to the humanitarian edifice by deciding to help young girls in difficulty and by allowing them to access education by creating in Paris in 1858 an orphanage which became in 1974 Eugene Napoleon Foundation.

A foster home is specially dedicated to these young French and foreign girls to help them build a more serene future and pursue studies. They are offered activities such as music classes or gardening. They can also thrive by volunteering.

Palatine Carita is also pleased to contribute to the restoration and conservation of the architectural heritage associated with the foundation building.

That can be possible

thanks to your donations

❝ Eugenie de Montijo, Spanish and then Countess of Teba, on the occasion of her marriage with Emperor Napoleon III, is awarded by the State a diamond necklace.

The future empress, not wishing that her first French gesture was to cost the French people, refuses the necklace and expresses the wish that with this money be created a free educational facility for poor girls. ❞
